At Residences at Wellpoint, our Memory Care employees assist residents with personal care tasks, just like the staff at our Assisted Living community. But our dementia care team is also specially trained to deal with the unique issues that often arise as a result of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Our care staff helps with meals, they check in with residents more frequently, and they create Memory Care activities designed to improve cognitive function and engage residents whether they are in the earliest stages of dementia or the latest. They also provide extra structure and support to help residents more successfully navigate their days and enjoy a better quality of life – while their families enjoy peace of mind.
Our Memory Care Assisted Living community is a comforting, uplifting environment incorporating safety and supportive cues throughout, even in the beautifully landscaped, completely secure enclosed courtyard.

Our goal for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias inspired the name of our Memory Care Program. FlourishSM Memory Care is rooted in the belief – and supported by leading-edge research – that people living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and memory loss can grow and flourish regardless of where they may be on their journeys.
Flourish programming addresses our memory residents’ unique needs and provides them with support, loving care and personalized dementia care programming that honors who they are and where they are in their journeys. Quite simply, we provide them with everything they need to ensure they flourish.
PLANNING EACH DAY
Our one-of-a-kind approach brings an experience for our Memory Care residents like no other. The simplicity of our programming is what makes it understandable for our residents, our families and our staff. FlourishSM uses these five pillars to plan days that create an engaging, consistent and supportive environment for our residents.
VELOCITY – A consistent offering of traditional activities that appeal to the seven core areas of programming. Velocity is our daily activities programming that sets the speed and direction for our residents’ days.
OSHIBORI EXPERIENCE – A daily routine activity that provides a consistent reminder for meal times while providing aroma therapy.
GRAB-AND-GO NEIGHBORHOOD ACTIVITIES – Impromptu activities specialized to smaller groups and individual needs.
S.T.A.R. – Specific Therapeutic Assisted Recreation is a family-oriented program that allows our families to bring in personal, reminiscent-type items to share with their family members.
REST AND RESTORATION – A care-staff-led intervention program that provides stimulation and redirection with four sensory components, including: audio, video, engagement and comfort interventions.
Therapeutic, structured daily activities are based on residents’ individual strengths that are focused on Wellness & Well-Being.
We promote Rest & Restoration by creating a calm, supportive environment. Using personalized, technological interventions – such as nostalgic music on headphones – helps to manage challenging behaviors commonly associated with dementia and memory loss.
Meaningful Relationships are important. With close resident-caregiver-family relationships, we build familiarity, trust and connection.
Nutrition is vital to those living with memory loss. We provide healthy, delicious menus with an array of services and sensory experiences.

How is memory care different from assisted living?
Memory care provides an enhanced level of assisted living designed specifically for those living with Alzheimer’s and related dementia such as Lewy body, Frontotemporal or vascular. This includes care teams specially trained in supporting those living with memory loss, dining that accommodates changing abilities and appetites, and activities programming that encourages connection, engagement and a sense of belonging.
How do I know if my loved one needs memory care?
There are many stages along the Alzheimer’s and dementia journey. Sometimes it’s hard to know whether the behaviors and memory gaps they are seeing are normal signs of aging or indicative of something more concerning. If you have concerns, it’s important to consult with a health care provider. Watch for changes in behavior including excessive defensiveness or anger, loss of interest in things they typically enjoy, decreased attention to housework and personal care, issues with money management and bills, challenges with managing medication, and increased confusion and distraction.

At Wellpoint, our memory care cost includes 24-hour care, a specialized staff, memory-enhancing activities and therapies, and a beautiful, secure environment. Included in the monthly rent: three meals per day plus snacks any time, housekeeping, and help with assistance of activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing and toileting.
